Chances to Volunteer

Chances to Volunteer:

We are currently in need of young adult volunteers to help at Godstock. You must be at least 18, out of high school and Ethics and Integrity certified.

What is Godstock?

Godstock is a Catholic music festival event open to Austin Diocese high school youth groups and schools held at Eagle’s Wings Retreat Center.

What happens at Godstock?

Godstock begins with an opening session at 1:00 p.m. From 2:00-6:00 p.m., we offer three distinct hour-long tracks. The three tracks are:
  • Big Stage: 4-5 bands will play on the big stage
  • Recreational: 5-6 different recreational options available
  • Liturgy, Devotional & Reconciliation: Liturgy of the Hours, Mass, Reconciliation and various devotionals take place.

How does it work?

Participants may choose to participate in different activities, choosing from the different tracks. For example: you might listen to music for an hour, go to daily Mass, play flag football and do a service project.

What would I do as a volunteer?

As a young adult volunteer you would have 2 of the following responsibilities:
  • Campsite hosts. You would be assigned to greet specific parishes upon arrival and show them to their campsite. You would go over any important information with the participants and be their contact person for questions.
  • Recreational track facilitators: Between the hours of 2-6 p.m. you would be assigned a recreational track activity to facilitate. This may include flag football, ultimate frisbee, sand volleyball, silly games, game tent etc.
  • Prayer Leaders: You would lead different prayers such as the Rosary, Stations of the Cross, Liturgy of the Hours etc.
  • Stage Roadies: Help bands get on and off stage.
  • Cooks: assist in food prepareation for the large number of volunteers
  • First Aid: be available to administer basic first aid. (medical personnel strongly preferred)
  • Hospitality: Be available to answer questions and help guests in whatever they might need.
  • Registration: Be available to help register parishes as they arrive at Eagle’s Wings.

Do I have to stay for the whole event?

You would need to be there no later than 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and stay until the dinner break at 6:00 p.m. If you would like to stay to participate in the evening programming, you are most welcome. If you would like to stay overnight, you may either camp or stay in the bunkhouse. Sunday brings Mass with the Bishop and lunch. If you stay overnight, we would like your help in cleaning up. This is does not take very long, as the parishes are generally very good about cleaning up after themselves.

How do I sign up?

If you are interested in participating, please complete the attached information form and email to austingodstock@gmail.com. If you have any questions, please email betsy@stalbertsyouth.org.
